Transforming Canadian urban construction.

Assembly exists to solve the most difficult development problem facing cities; the missing middle. Most construction today is focused on high-rise buildings that appeal to a narrow demographic, or stand-alone dwellings that are beyond the reach of many. What cities need more of are affordable buildings that create rich, vibrant neighbourhoods. This is what we do. To do it, we had to change a lot.

Traditional construction uses one-off designs. They are plagued by numerous issues, poor design coordination, project delays, labour disruption, supply chain problems, inflation shocks and material waste.

Assembly treats buildings like products. We use a configure-to-order system, with repeatable design elements that can be fabricated offsite and built quickly and efficiently onsite. Our buildings are made from sustainable mass-timber and light frame panels.

Our focus on human-density ensures that our homes not only provide development opportunities in highly desired city centres, but also prioritize social infrastructure and community well-being. Assembly turns under-utilized infill sites into vibrant, low-carbon mid-rises and repurposes single family homes into beautiful and functional living spaces.

Assembly is a team of creators, developers and builders.
