Transforming urban construction. Designing for happier humans.
Assembly exists to solve the most difficult development problem facing cities; the missing middle. Most construction today is focused on high-rise buildings that appeal to a narrow demographic, or stand-alone dwellings that are beyond the reach of many. What cities need more of are affordable buildings that create rich, vibrant neighbourhoods. This is what Assembly does. And to do it, we had to change almost everything about how buildings are made.
Traditional construction uses one-off designs. They are plagued by numerous issues, poor design coordination, project delays, labour disruption, supply chain problems, inflation shocks and material waste.
Sustainable, mass-timber and light frame buildings, that are prefabricated and modular, are the way forward. Assembly treats buildings like products. We use repeatable designs and a kit of parts that can be fabricated offsite and built quickly and efficiently onsite.
Assembly delivers transformative results. Our focus on human-density ensures that our homes not only provide development opportunities in highly desired city centres, but also prioritize social infrastructure and community well-being. Assembly turns under-utilized infill sites into vibrant, low-carbon mid-rises and repurposes backyards into beautiful and functional living spaces.
